Speed Demon Unleashed: It Began With Karting

    A National Championship Title

I started racing go-karts when I was five years old and won a national championship at the age of eight. From the very beginning, racing has been a family affair. Our team, Uber schnell Racing, is run by my mom, dad, and me.

Growing up, I was always in the garage helping my parents work on the cars they raced and the kart I got to race. Over the years, I became more hands-on with maintaining the karts, working closely with my parents in the shop and at the track.

Mixing fuel and oil for 2-stroke engines, checking brake systems and fluid levels, inspecting tire wear, mounting tires, and working on engines when needed. The racing opportunity has helped me build strong mechanical skills and taught me how to stay calm under pressure while needing to solve problems as a team.

    The Racing Garage Grows

      Experience the Thrill

As I gained more experience, I expanded my responsibilities to include our full-size racecars. Maintain and race a fleet that includes Tony Karts, a Corvette Z06, Corvette Stingray, Mustang Shelby GT350, Subaru BRZ, Honda Civic Type R, Porsche Cayman S, and a BMW 2002. I work on routine tasks like vehicle inspections, oil changes, brake pad replacements, and tire rotations while preparing the cars for race days.

In addition to the racecars, I help maintain our family’s daily drivers to ensure they stay reliable and ready for the road.

On race weekends, I have experience handling logistics such as loading the trailer, towing vehicles to the track, and handling any troubleshooting that comes up on-site. I assist with rulebook compliance, support technical inspections, and step in as a pit crew member when I am not driving.

        The Project Car

One of my proudest and most involved projects outside of race weekends has been rebuilding a 1976 C3 Corvette. This car started out as a carbureted classic Chevy 350 engine, and over time, I’ve been working to modernize and restore it into a more reliable and responsive machine.

I converted the fuel system from carburetion to electronic fuel injection, which involved selecting and installing a compatible EFI system, wiring in a new ignition setup, and replacing the fuel tank and fuel lines to handle the updated system requirements. I also installed a new starter and integrated modern control components to improve performance and drivability.

Currently, I’m focused on preparing to upgrade the exhaust system by adding performance headers and a side-pipe exhaust, which will enhance both airflow and engine sound. This project has been a significant learning experience for me, especially in engine tuning, electrical systems, and hands-on fabrication.

Beyond the technical challenges, the build has been incredibly rewarding because I get to share it with my parents. Whether we’re solving problems in the shop or sourcing parts together, it has been a meaningful way to stay connected and continue learning from each other.
